Distance

Distance

A Poem by Sarah Marie

Distant souls on fire,

Hands reaching higher

For another to hold,

For a way to grow,

Fingers entwined;

No time to pine,

Spirits fading fast,

Hoping love will last;

Slow beat of the heart

Quicken when far apart,

Cannot stand to be away,

Do not want to stray-

But what is one to do

When forgetting how to say

I love you?
