Thoughts During Insomnia

Thoughts During Insomnia

A Poem by thinktodiscover

Late at night… When most are at rest, that’s when there is no escaping.

The thoughts take control, memories flood back. Why did I want to grow up so fast? The innocence of childhood is a precious gift which is not properly appreciated until it is replaced by the trials of adulthood. As I sit and think into the loneliest hours of the night my heart is seized by regret and remorse.

The Mockingbird has been murdered along with childhood.

Sadness overwhelms the sky, the clouds start weeping. No one notices, they lay in their beds oblivious to everything except for the lies that consume their sleeping minds as dreams.
