A Broken Promise

A Broken Promise

A Poem by zirk

A promise made to keep for life
A cautious skepticism
Labelled pessimism
But hollow promises shatter souls
Igniting flames
Consuming joy
The skeptic's wisdom manifest
In the darkness of loneliness
Bitter words spoken
Promises reneged under shallow pretense
Revealing a deeper-seated lack of loyalty
Failures used as weapons
Against all self-confidence and hope
The one to blame
The one who lost the most

let's say it is an odd slap to the face and a splash of a drink to the face, but i can not think of the better effect than how this reads.

About
I express my emotion through poetry. I don't think it is a talent of mine; my creativity is better focused and more comfortable writing reports or essays where I don't have to hide behind symbols. .. more..
