I Left a Friend Behind
A Poem by
BeetleBug
For Sarah.
Two girls in a sand box
playing with the sand
one was white
one was tan.
They grew up
playing with the sand
one grew green
one grew land.
The land was made
to take her away
to a far off place
were unicorns play.
The green grew tall
to jungle with prey
to kill and eat
to live another day.
The two big girls
would laugh away
every one
every day.
But one girl stopped
and walked away
to sit and sleep
in the shade.
The other one went
along with it
but she wanted
somthing different.
Pale as snow
and grass as green
left her best friend
crying in the stream.

I'm sorry Sarah, I had to. I had moved on to another place, and I couldn't lie to you any more. I'm sorry.

You get the regret across very well. I'm not a poet so all I can really help with is spelling and punctuation. Each new line should (probably) start with a capital letter. You missed the 'e' in 'something' in the last line of the second-last stanza. Good poem, though.
