The Tale Of IcarusA Poem by Ioana GeorgianaThis came to life, inspired by a Greek Myth.Icarus' love for Helios was greater than the Gods But their fates never entwined Thus the mortal set on a quest Of reaching his object of affection. But for the love he had for the Sun Icarus would remain solitary Until the end of his existence. The blossoming boy Was thus warned Yet he was too blindly enamoured To even notice. So he sought Helios For the comfort of closeness To an eternal being. He flew and flew and flew Then stopped, to caress the golden aura Dripping languidly over the Earth Because a life without Helios meant Hell. Tragedy struck As the mere mortal's skin was tarnished By the flames of his secret lover. Alas, Icarus fell He took joy upon his death For he rose to Heaven Having encountered love.
