Light A CandleA Poem by Ioana GeorgianaInspired by the tragic fire at a club in Bucharest, I turned grief into art.Oh, brothers and sisters, Gather round to mourn This young generation. Some paid their dues, Sooner than was needed With unnecessary bloodshed. Victims of crude indifference, Captive in a blaze Souls without blame. People desperately trample around Hoping to break free From Hell itself. Some make it out Alive, more or less, Others, no success. Who to condemn now? Politicians, corrupt, greedy pirates? Or the nation? We can point fingers, We can call names Loss is loss. No stone remains unturned, Untill we get justice For the fallen. People struggle in hospitals Life is a thread Barely hanging on March in the streets, Ask for a change Be the revolution. When the day comes, Our victory will matter Angels shall sing. But for now pray, Pray for the living Light a candle. And for the dead, Take a solemn moment Light a candle.
