Diary of an InsomniacA Poem by Wildwood FoxI try so hard to close my eyes to fall asleep and dream something sweet. But I can't. I lie here awake tossing and turning trying to fall asleep. But I can't. I lie still, staring into the black empty space around me, hopingthatmyheartwillstopbeatingsofastandmymindwillstopthinking. But it won't. Back to tossing and turning and trying in vain to find peace. But I can't Then the pens and needles come. Pricking at my feet and fingers. I move them to make the pricking stop. But it won't I close my eyes again and listen in the silence, I hear the clock ticking in the corner. Tick Tock, tick tock, TICKTOCKTICKTOCK ! TICKTOCKTICKTOCKTICKTOCK! I wonder how long I've been awake as the clock gets louder. I hope it will stop, But it won't,
