An ironic poem about Man's efforts to help solve the problem of world hunger and poverty

"
  I tossed a coin

into a wishing well

and made a wish

that not a single soul

would ever dwell

in poverty or in hunger.

But once I left

the wishing well

my coin was fished

from where it fell

by a hungry homeless beggar-man

scrounging for a dish

"Police!" "Police!"

I quickly yell

"That b*****d stole my wish!"
