Chapter 7

A friend gone bad

A few days after they had arrived with some kids and it already feels like home, and the keep getting more and more kids. Everyone is so happy except Tanshin who seems to be getting worried, one day I find him sitting alone and sit with him

“What’s wrong?” I ask as I look at him,

“He stares at me straight in the face, do you remember our over hiding place.” He says with a straight face,

“You me the tree, right.” I reply, he smiles,

“You remember it, that’s good; I was thinking we should both go there together. But just you and me okay,” he says, I quickly agree and we go into the bus and go to my old town.

When we get to the tree, it’s just as big as when I first saw it. I quickly climb up it and look around, Tanshin follows shortly,

“It’s great to be back, I mean it been so long.” I say,

“Look Kahime there is something I need to give to you,” he begins I stare at him for a few seconds as someone approaches.

“RUN, get away from him.” A voice yells from below, I quickly climb down and Tanshin joins me. But as soon as I see its Sphire, Tanshin grabs me and runs. I try to stop but just slow him down,

“What are you doing,” he stares at me, Sphire catches up and takes me of him somehow.

“Trying to kill you,” she replies as she shows me his pocket knife. I laugh,

“That’s just his pocket knife, he uses it for protection.” I say still laughing; when I stop I see Tanshin and Sphire staring at each other. Then I realise that she wasn’t lying, I fall to the ground thinking about how my best friend just tried to kill me. he tries to talk but I cut him off,

“You, I trusted you and I……………… why, why are you the one I most…………… why are you trying to kill me?” I finally get out,

“I was going to kill you ten years ago, but now…………” he hesitate, “I have organised Shelbyville to be moved to Skier and the black king has decide to welcome them with open arms,” I slowly stand up,

“I wish, I wish…………” I begin,

“Don’t say it,” Sphire and Tanshin say at the same time.

“I wish I had never meet you Tanshin.” I yell, he stares at me and a black cloud covers my feet and climbs up my body. 

The next thing I know is I fall out of some weird tree with fish in it. I stand up and see a whole new world with almost everything different. I slowly walk until I run into a giant wasp, I run through mud and who knows what else just to get away. I soon find a house and knock on the door; a maid and butler answer and asks this beautiful women in her 40’s. The woman runs to the door and orders them to clean me up as soon as possible, and judging by the clothes the really rich. As soon as I clean up the woman and her husband ask to see me in their study.

“May I enter,” I ask knocking on the door,

“Yes,” one of them answer, the woman runs up to me and hugs me. She then let’s go and closely looks at me,  

“See, look at her, she’s pretty and smart.” She says with delight, and as she says so my wig falls off, her smile is even bigger than before, “She even has long hair, can I please have her? You can choose who she marries.” She says

“Sure, anything for you.” He replies, then I realise they may have the power to keep me here against my will.
