Chapter 14

What is Makoto up to?

Later that night, Aiko’s in the archery venue trying to shoot an arrow. Makoto finds her and tries to show her how to do it

“Pull the arrow right back,” Makoto says standing really close with his hands on her waist. “Now before you think of letting go pace your breathing and just as your breathing out let go of the arrow.” Makoto says, Aiko listens to him and when she fires it hits right next to bulls- eye.

“Thank- you,” Aiko says trying not to look at him, Makoto pins her against a wall nearby

“Don’t do that,” he says looking her straight in the eye

“Do what? And please let go,” she says trying not to look in his eyes

“You’re doing it again, look in my eyes please.” Makoto says

“I don’t want to,” Aiko replies

“You know I hate it when you try to look away.” He says getting so close he’s almost kissing her “please look at me in the eyes,”

“No,” Aiko replies

“Why not,” Makoto says

“Because you’ll see my pain,” Aiko says still not looking at him “you’re the type of person that can see others pain, just like Hiroshi and I don’t want to show you my pain.” Aiko’s says trying to break free

“Well you guessed pretty quick, I can see others pain but I can’t see they’re pain through they’re eye.” He says trying to get her to stop wriggling around “I can’t see everything they’re seen through a…..” Makoto says trying to kiss her, the Hiroshi rushes to him.

“Sorry, but Soa and Koa have gone missing.” Hiroshi says trying to catch his breath, Aiko rushes to their room and remembers a place they told her about. Still holding the bow and arrows Aiko rushes to their secret place outside sector 28, when she gets to them she sees a group of men trying to kill them. She hits one of them with an arrow

“Get out of here, go home” she yells, the girls do as she says as the men run toward her.

“You b***h,” one of them yell

“Hey boys let’s have some fun with this one,” another says grabbing her and pinning her to the ground. And just as they try to take of her dress Makoto intervenes and beats them all up.

“Next time any of you even touch her you’re dead.” Makoto says grabbing Aiko off the ground, Makoto takes Aiko home. The next Moring Aiko walks up to Hiroshi and says

“I want to learn how to fight.” Hiroshi looks at her

“Are you sure you don’t have to.” Hiroshi replies

“Yes,” Aiko says staring at Hiroshi. So Hiroshi tried to train her, but the only things she could do were darts and archery. It took only one day to sees she couldn’t fight, so Hiroshi gave her some darts, a knife, her bow and arrows.

“I’m hopeless.” Aiko says to Soa and Koa

“You know you don’t have to train to be stronger, I mean I’ll all ways be here to protect you.” Makoto says walking in, Soa and Koa stand up

“Yeah, Makoto will save us when we’re in trouble,” Soa says, Aiko just looks at him knowing she can’t say anything without bring up the past.

“Hey Soa and Koa, can you leave me and Aiko lone to talk.” Makoto asks, Koa winks at Soa and they leave the room. Aiko sits down on her bed, not very happy. Makoto sit beside her

“I want to know why you’re in sector 28. I know you must have some sisters Koa and Soa told me how you got upset when they said Izumi and Kanna.” Makoto says trying to look Aiko in the eye and for once Aiko looks into Makoto eyes. She starts crying as she falls into Makoto’s lap, Makoto sits their patting her head not even saying a word.

Characters are up and running, but I think more can be done to this....

Good characters are alive in the way they speak, they make us feel their emotions even if it is only for a moment of suspended reality. Yours are that and more:) Makoto reminds me of my fav anime.
