Chapter 10

Higure sits down on the bed with the wolf “All stories have a begin, this one is no different. Once long before the war even started humans ruled, because the animals had a contract with god. They weren’t allowed to talk or use magic in front of humans. One day a human man saved a wolf and they became best friends so much so that the wolf broke the contract trying to save his life. The other animal killed the wolf from his betrayal, then man was angry by this and asked god to give him magic powers. God did give him powers, but he killed a group of animals trying to find out who killed his friend. Her brother also got powers for God and when he heard about what he did he killed his brother. The animal’s anger from what his brother did decide to take over the world with their magic. After they took over the world they began to fight who would lead them, so God sent a power spirit named Jikan to solve the problem. Jikan told the animals that he had made an animal that would rule “The dragons” the animals hate Jikan for this and sealed him away with magic. The six elements then told the animal each clan would get a contract with them. After much time and effort the animals were peaceful until the elements started fighting over who was most powerful. They started wars with each other and the battles were long and death always came. Then one girl a reaper stoped the war, but the animals clans wanted to be the rules.  So a witch then killed the girl to show that the dragons were the best, the dragons decide that dark magic would be banned after several dragons killed countless reapers. And that’s how the war started, it is said the elements were angry by what the animals did and turned themselves into animals to see what it would be like. God gave them bodies and wiped their memories clean, so they would know what it would be like as animal. And that’s the story.” Higure says “anyway I better go to the village and go shopping,” Higure stands up and walks out the door.

“Wait, are the elements still alive.” The wolf says standing up

“Yes, I guess so. If you want the help of a witch find the element dark,” she says looking at him

“But you’re a witch aren’t you?” the wolf asks her

“No she not, she hasn’t made a contract with the element yet” Yuki says opening the door “think about it if she made a contract with the dark element she would be a lot stronger. Beside I don’t think anyone has made a contract with the dark element in hundreds of years. The witches we kill only are trying to make a contract not made one.”

“Yuki go to the village and shop I’ll chop fire wood,” Higure says trying to break the tension. The wolf looks at Yuki and then eats his cold soup.

A few days later the wolf is fully healed and Sora has come to visit Higure

“Well you look fine, so you can go home now.” Sora says looking at the wolf

“No way, beside this place would be dull without me and you know it.” The wolf says sitting on the couch “And if I left who would protect Higure and Yuki?” Sora is staring at him as if he was going to kill him

“Sora your father wants you,” Yuki says running inside “Does anyone know where Higure is?”

“No,” Sora says leaving “she’ll turn up sooner or later”

“That’s why I stay,” the wolf says exiting with Sora “don’t worry I’ll find her” he says trying to make Yuki belief him.

Somewhere near the lake Higure is looking at the trees when the wolf sees her

“Yuki’s looking for you,” the wolf says
“Sorry I was just looking at the trees,” Higure says looking at the wolf with sad eye

“What’s the matter?” the wolf asks

“What is your first mission really?” Higure says trying not to look sad

“Well………. It was to find the dragon princess, you see I’m the wolf chief’s son and he always gets the hardest first mission.” He says to Higure

“But, we don’t have a princess we have a prince!” Higure says

“Your wrong Hinote took the princess into a small village, so he could become king” he says. Higure looks at him in shock

“How will you find her? And how will you get her back into power?” Higure says looking at the wolf, but he turns his head and says

“I don’t know, but I have too.”  Higure tries to look at him in the face, Higure tries to change the subject and says

“Do you see that tree over there, my great great grandfather planted it when he was young for his lover. It’s a beautiful tree isn’t it?” the wolf looks at Higure staring at the tree

“We better get back,” says the wolf grabbing Higure’s arm
