My Heart Lies With you

My Heart Lies With you

A Poem by The Voice Inside Me

Even though,
you may not know,
my heart lies with you.

All those times,
you saw me broken and bloody,
in a pool of my own despair,
and saved me.
Did I not thank you?

For even today,
as the sun ceases to shine,
through my windows,
when the world throws rocks,
at my house made of glass,
it was you,
you who guarded me.

Even today,
when I am a ticking time bomb,
against myself,
you are there to diffuse me.
My heart lies with you.

You hold me,
hold me in your arms,
and shield me,
from myself.
How much more grateful could I be?

All those times,
I wanted to end it all,
when the weights I was carrying,
became too much,
you were there.
My heart lies with you.

Your words,
silent maybe,
still speak.
Ringing out,
from inside my stage.
Crashing down,
all of the barriers,
I try to build up to protect.
You should know.

But if there was one thing,
only one thing I could say,
my last and only gift to you,
the words that will forever fall from my lips to yours.

My heart lies with you.
