Convince MeA Poem by The Voice Inside MeSilly girl. You silly girl, Falling again.
I've seen it all before. He'll do the same thing, you know.
You say it's different, neither of you are the same, that life is better now.
Your face lights up, when you speak of him, silly girl.
Then the light turns to darkness, as I try, try to tell you. But you will not listen.
You think, Things are different, why is can she not see? Why doesn't she understand?
Well you see, silly girl. I was there too, with you in the darkness, whether you felt my presents or not.
So convince me, silly girl. Convince me, things have changed. Convince me, things will never be the same.
Convince me, that those times I saw you broken and bloody, will never happen again. Convince me, that I will never have to hear, your world falling apart again, because of him.
Convince me, that I will never see those terrible tears, that fall from your face. And convince me, silly girl, that those days spent in bed, with the world gone array, that those days will never happen again.
Convince me, please I beg, convince me, that you will not come back to me, with pain in your heart, and hurt in your eyes.
Convince me, that he will be there for you, take pride in you, and not leave me in the dust.
Oh you silly girl, convince me, for I do not see. Please though, until then. Do not, wonder why I am unable to see. Do not, question the hurt in my eyes.
For I have seen it all before, and I fear I will see it once more. So please, silly girl, convince me. © 2012 The Voice Inside Me |
