As The Rain Falls

I wrote this on a rain day as I pondered on a recent relationship that ended.

As the rain falls I feel peace.

As the rain falls I feel unease.

It's pitter patter on the roof is a symphony

That plays and tames the savage beast

Lying within my body.

The cascades that fall over the edge

Remind me of the ones that fell

From my eyes that painful night.

You answered the question I asked.

You created something beautiful and 

destroyed it right in front of my eyes.

My heart, still in pain from the blow received,

Keeps palpitating but sheds a tear with each

Palpation followed by a question.

Why? When? Who? What? How?

Was it my mistake for falling in love

With a dream?

Or was it your's for creating the dream?

So many question that remain unanswered.

Question that no one but you and I could answer

But never will.

As the rain falls I feel peace.

As the rain falls I feel unease.
