Tommy Gun

Tommy Gun

A Story by The Unknown Sith

He hit the door so fast it made me laugh, but with his every gasp I could tell that out of our short time together this might be our last. She screamed "Tommy no!" as he flew out the front door with a gun in tow. I cried in my high chair. I was still not old enough to form the words to ask my mother where did he go? She just stood there crying in the kitchen shaking and impatiently waiting. Sadly, she didn't have to wait long. As there came from her a deathly gasp, followed by her collapse, at the sound of multiple gun blasts. Too young to know why, more because my mother did, so did I too uncontrollably cry. All this was returned by no reply. This fragment of a childhood scene fades out with just the whimpering of my mother as she is balled up on the kitchen floor just repeats the same question "Tommy why?" Now fifteen years later I know why? For that's the day my daddy died.
