Elephant dust

Elephant dust

A Poem by The Unknown Sith
"

" ashes to ashes, dust to dust..."

"

The things I used to see

Are things that I can no longer be.

Resurrected only in pictures and distant memories.

I find myself drifting back to the past.

With things that were once easy

Are now a struggling tasks.

I only wear youth as a mask.

As my stride becomes a plague.

For the more I walk,

The more pieces of me fall behind,

In decay.

This withering skin and bones,

Combine with a mind that is gathering dust.

An old elephant dragging it's tusk.

Hollowing and wallowing to this watering hole.

Falling in,

Only to rise again.

Loss of body,

But gain in soul.

There is no fountain a youth.

I am proof.

I must always move forward otherwise,

I become that old oak tree, plotted in place by its deep roots.

I can see the spirits now.

That used to be seen only as myth.

Life is a gift that only lasts for a glimpse.

You can't look directly at it like an eclipse,

But it is something you don't want to miss.

You should enjoy it.

Until the day it slips away,

As the wind takes the last of you in decay.

It was good while it lasted.

But know this,

You can do a little dance and a little play,

But no matter what you do,

you can not stay.

I have got demons haunting me. Little devils mischievously taunting me, with a life of endless agony. Happiness is flaunted in front of me, then ripped away suddenly, in an act of savagery. To be mad or blind, to see that I have got the devil inside.
I walk in a church...it burns down.
I punch holes into these burial grounds.

Like a wolf at the moon, I howl.

I am fowl and depraved.

I am a spirit rising from a restless grave.

A slave freed from his chains.

From the loss of sanity and the embrace of being insane. I learned to love the pain. Teeth stained and a body maimed, I swung wildly with this wooden cane. For in the darkness I crept away. Eating at the night and cursing the day. With this vampire's ire of gray.

The sign reads simply,

"stay away!"
