Extinct Time

Extinct Time

A Poem by Drcicarlo

An inquisitive mind-- flourished from oppression into a cave as rich as Reed mine
Where tourists can flood my thoughts
Pick at my gold and sell it for their lives
Stabilizing their own
While weakening my historic rise
Greed increases, and relationships are seceded
Because everyone wants to obtain sacred pieces

Wandering through pixels of distorted visions
Gatherers become hunters
Painting with blood, their own ambitions
Setting standards for the continuing generations
In turn, a figurative genocide
For the sake of remaining proclamations
Paralyzing, terrorizing, and destroying indifferent others

If time manipulates unfortunate events, perhaps the solution
Is just the opposite
Creatures of habit soon face an evolution
Once protagonists reach a state of lucid retribution
It defines them as antagonists playing a role of uncanny acts
The renowned vigilantes use time as their sword
To reenact their own demise and call unto their lord

Scattered within the affluent cave
The people and their children
And their children's children
Are enslaved, digging their own graves while being influenced by vacuous hopes and darkened shapes
The repetitive motions devolved into psychopathic notions
They attempted to escape but were punished for breaking the rotation
Whipped, humiliated, and shamed
The cave insulated the pain
By offering priceless artifacts
Within my knowledgeable den

A wonderful write, how we play with humanity and mother nature alike not knowing how delicate the balance of life is. I read Chernobyl won't be safe for humans for another 220,000 years. we can't afford too many of these mistakes! Lovely imagery, meter, just well written.:)

I am reminded of Jung's story of falling into a cave beneath his feet. And finding he is falling into the history of the collective unconcious. I don't know if this has a relevance but this interesting write gives me the same feeling. How habit forces evolution perhaps and then is found lacking.
This is a write I will return to. For the nonce I find it multi layered and rich.

a full meal ... lots of fine metaphors and personifications .. invading such personal spaces as the mind is like a last stand ... kind of reminds me of the Inferno of Dante ... without the light of goodness the world will fall ..the can be no doubt ..we spiral and are repelled into the darkness of hate and viciousness ...frightening says i! you have struck a note ...if we would only listen eh!?

We see and are what past and DNA form us; touched by the uninvited, ever to be guests. Predetermined self, minds and hearts, brains and blood create their own needs but as our genes decree. Perhaps.

Read this twice, read as at first thought, a travelling through a cave, a place, a life and feeling, seeing the all around. But then second time, right or wrong, felt something different.

Ok, might need come back and back.. each time writing my own pre.determined thoughts til - if ever, I escape them!!

i think the distorted vision is that accumulated wealth can protect us...and make us happy...but affluence doesn't protect us from disease, from extinction...and it does not insulate the heart.
and the world needs heart to survive....not more gold.
i really like the effect of this write.
