![]() Soldier AboveA Poem by Lady Tyke![]() Wrote this during one of my night shifts. I love my job but sometimes it just doesn't feel enough.![]()
A clock still ticks to mark his time
As the world continues to grow His body at peace in a rigid state Limbs cast in a mortal shadow We salute farewell to a soldier today Who fought to keep us here A man so brave yet tortured so By the ghosts that now draw near Today I sat and held his hand Refusing to let him go But selfishness could not win out Over time which had grown old Our care goes past spare arm or foot To honour, respect and love Together we stand an army for them To remember our soldiers above © 2012 Lady TykeReviews
