Waiting Leads

Waiting Leads

A Poem by Lady Tyke
"

My friend died of cancer a couple of months ago, I wrote this the last time I saw her...her illness broke my heart but her heart glowed beauty!

"

Is she there?

Is her life’s breath pulsing?

Why does her body kill her every second?

Is her life over?

Speak my daughter as you slowly die.

Come children, watch your teachers heart

Her eyes burn with life

Her body burns with death

Words scream anger at the Most High

Why my child?

Why pure pain?

Death’s food, it’s nutrition to live.

Bring me death quickly

Gasping and hunched

Swollen, departing breath.

Speak my daughter as you slowly die.

Cry, sob, scream my name

Death leads to me.

That must have been a painful write. My Uncle died of cancer, and it was one of the worst deaths, devastating to all those who have to sit around and watch as it eats away the body of the one we love. yet their heart stays strong, it is still them inside the shell. They still have the same soul they had before they became ill. Yet, for those who watch, the end is a final mercy. Your poem tells of this pain, and it's light that there is somewhere to go, someone who calls them to them. A beautiful poem on a sad subject. XX
