Please, Leila

Please, Leila

A Poem by The Dark Passenger
"

it's okay to sink, it's not a sin.

"

Please, Leila,
put on this smile i bought for you,
it's just your size,
and I promise it won't let you down.

I think you've wondered
how you ever got this far at all
when the world makes you feel so small
just turn around now,
just turn around

My dear Leila,
the world is wicked I know,
but it's not a sin if you sink
just a little bit
down,
down,
down...

wear your crown
crown,
crown.

I think you've wished for,
too much, to quick to learn,
you watch him on the cross
and feel so envious,
you wish you could feel it now
feeling life seep back as you drown...

Please, Leila,
put on this smile I bought for you,
it's just your size,
and I promise it won't let you down.
Put it on and we'll pretend it's your crown.

just for you,
just for you,
Leila, put on this smile for you.

I really like this, though I can't say why. It just reads nicely and I really love the first stanza.
