Much Ado About Note TakingA Stage Play by The Dark PassengerA random little skit meant to satirize the old English Language. A little fun homage to Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing"A class room, there are students sitting at tables and listening to their teacher speak about English Literature. Shakespeare is mentioned. Two young squires sit in the back row, one, Pedro is about to take notes when he realises he does not have a pen to write with.
PEDRO You there, wouldst thou do me a great favour and hand me thy sword?
BENEDICT Why now? What blood-drawn battle wouldst thou evoke in such a peacefull setting?
PEDRO Your pen, man! Alas, it is the sword that thou wouldst use in order to endure the war of words that I speak of! This is the sword that I so solemnly request.
BENEDICT Aye, but as a man does draw one sword, only one pen do I use to draw.
PEDRO Then giveth here thy pen! Only by this moment's quick passing do I need it such.
BENEDICT Nay! Not so! Wouldst I allow your request and ignore my own need? What if I should require it as soon as your hands own it?
PEDRO Can you not spare a moment without requirement?
BENEDICT Wouldst thou?
PEDRO Ay, how my wits do fail me in this time. Come, shalt I curse you with my wordless page?
BENEDICT Do what thou must, as I will forever refrain. Anon.
PEDRO [Aside] Cursed fellow, dost our friendship fail with just the wanting of a pen? Ay, woe is me! And woe is my penless page!
