you

you

A Poem by the tipsy writer

Hell is a room with you

But Hell is also without you.

Because I’ve intertwined myself

With you, so deep,

With secrets, only meant for you.

And I can no longer undo

That messy knot of feelings

Strangling my desire to rid myself of you

Because we’ve parted ways

As we stretch,

Stretch away from what could have been.

And you,

So settled, you never feel that tension

As I tug needing to be free.

You, you are happy.

And I’m… content.

Without you, I’ve become better-

A real girl.

Not the version I want you to want me to be.

A real girl-

With thoughts and ideas

That I have not filtered through your reality.

My reality.

Is that I-

I still love you.
