Apology

Apology

A Poem by the tipsy writer

First and foremost, let me apologize for myself.
For that thing I might have said.
Or that thing I probably did.
To make you regret your presence in my life.
For saying too much. Too little. Nothing at all.
I don't blame you.
I'll blame myself instead.
Give me time to perfect my actions, behaviors, and insecurities.
In time, I'll be perfect.
Won't be depressed.
Anxious.
And all those taxing things.
Then I'll apologize for real things.
Like being late.
Or forgetting birthdays.
And not just for being.

I myself tend to find myself saying these exact same words in hopes of changing myself because I'm often flaky in my behavior towards friends. It is kind of difficult to change because I have grown so accustomed to my life of solitude. Thank you for sharing your poem which really speaks to me.

About me? Flourless chocolate cake is my favorite thing in this world. I think the movie "Elf" is overrated... sorry, not sorry. I would kill for a fraction of Terry Pratchett's wit. I was switc.. more..
