We are the deer and we are the tiger

We are the deer and we are the tiger

A Poem by the bitter taste of almost

It's primal.

A deer, hunted by a tiger, notices the danger in time, runs away in time, saves himself; when he looks behind, he evaluates: processes his victory, shakes off the tension, locks the tiger out of his mind. He is safe now. He moves on with his life.

Humans are different.

We never moved on.

We never locked the tiger out of our minds.

Black lines scarred our vision

Left us in the half-dark

Made us half-blind.

We locked ourselves in and we shake the black bars

And we shake the black bars

And we shake the black bars

And we

Take the tiger with us.

We are the tiger.

We are the deer and we are the tiger.
