Dark Beauty

Dark Beauty

A Poem by J. Storm

You stayed with me when I should of been running,
Hated every person I’d start to fall in love with,
Won’t suffer that heartbreak a second time,
The past likes to taunt me,
I try to hide from it but it’s haunting,
Loving me is just a lie,
Because of you I don’t know what’s real and it’s exhausting,
You have my heart even though it’s nothing,
The one I want is the one I need,
You have always been why I succeed,
My feelings time can’t touch,
Leaning onto those memories like a clutch,
The day it ended I started dying,
The truth of it hurt so I started lying,
Who could I trust I just didn’t know,
I was so young so I started to grow,
Now I’m grown and it’s still the same,
Playing my position like a game,
I only live now day to day,
Lost and forgotten like a stray,
Where we’re at is where we will stay,
Too many gods it’s no wonder why I can’t pray.
