Untitled, 8/8A Poem by The Standard PoetDescribing the voice of an ex-lover.
Every time I hear your voice, it's like hearing it for the first time. It always catches me off-guard, and it is hard to describe the effect it has but I shall attempt to do it justice. The way you hold yourself and remain constantly comfortable in your own skin resonates in each word you speak. Your voice is welcoming and sure of itself, yet remains coy and playful. It hints at a deeper, intricate level of knowing without ever revealing the depth I dream of reaching. It is beautiful and embodies you perfectly. And this is why I miss our conversations, because your voice is too much to hold in my memory, yet you are never around for me to indulge myself.
