The Logic of Lies

The Logic of Lies

A Poem by The Spaniard
"

some people pretend to be your friend yet whisper when you're gone.

"

I wave and you whisper,

Your lies and deception.

You've got them all

under your thumb.

And your smile ever wistful,

With your dagger so sharp.

You've always played

the compassionate one.

But I heard every word

When you thought I was gone.

To my face you embrace me,

to my back you shun.

Now everyone's staring

For they just know what they're told.

Come look at his failure,

Come look at his son.

So sad yet so true. People just portray contrasting roles at times. It's something inevitable. Well, only for those who betray honesty.

a hard lesson to learn, and an even hard lesson to unlearn.

Not everyone is deceitful, sugar. It's sad that a parent would be. You betray such grief and embarrassment here. makes my heart crack, any my tongue want to lash out as such fools. Great piece!
