Everything's Fine

Everything's Fine

A Poem by The Spaniard
"

A day in the life of a chemically imbalanced man

"

           Everything’s Fine

Everything’s fine,

       A lazy Saturday afternoon.
             My hangover has passed,
My first beer has been cracked.
The rain has stopped
And the sun is coming out.
I move this to the deck,
Dip my feet into the pool.

              It’s getting bright.
               It’s getting Warm.

I’m basking while my pen keeps moving.
          Stopping only briefly
From time to time to collect my thoughts.

The neighborhood kids are coming out to play
As the clouds grow at further distance.
I could waste the whole day out here

                                  If I wanted to…
                                     I want to.
 Yes,
      Everything’s fine.
I sit here thinking to myself,
                           Everything is just fine.
                                     So why,

                        Do I feel like crying?

Perhaps not everything is fine. I like the spoken word romp through someone's life moment. The story telling puts us, the reader, into the narrator's momment. Allusions to events a day or more before, statements of a day wishing to be wasted watching time pass, reflections on normal life hinting at something darker. I like it. Good show. Thanks for sharing this!

Cheers!
Doc.

just because everything looks fine doesnt mean it is. Our emotions get the better of us, and no matter what we thing they tell us if we are ok. I love this.

Ooo I love this. Very Bukowski-esque. And I can relate too. Sometimes we're the most sad when we're happy. Greak work here
