The Dance

An older one I wrote about a relationship that has lost it's passion.

What eludes me is this...

How you circumvent

  Dancing your ballet of seeming ignorance.

 

While I'm left watching your brilliant movements,

Too much in awe to feel dissapointment.

 

But it's when Im alone that I notice the holes,

The empty and the transposed.

 

It's probably nothing,

But my nagging heart wishing,

 

That I could have what I've been missing.

we see what we want to see sometimes... it isnt until we are alone and we fall victim to our own thoughts of logic and reason that we start to see the truth. Great piece.

Nicely done. Good structure and visual appeal. Your words create and communicate the emotions of passion, pain, loss, and emptiness. If given to the person to which it is directed, I think it might have been received as 'venom poetry,' poetry designed to hurt. Sad but done well. Thanks for sharing this.

So well said... when there is something lacking in a relationship you feel such a deep emptiness and it makes everything else in the relationship begin to fail like a domino effect... thats when it's time to break free before your spirit is broken.
