We are Free

I am very happy that Barack Obama is our new president. I made this poem to show people that any leader can lead this country, no matter what race or gender they are. This is to show that we are free, and that we can have our say in an issue happening.

 

 

A Leader

A leader is a person who can lead his or her people to victory,

this person wants to help his or her people out,

they can be any race, gender, and have any type of personality,

a leader is someone who stays true to his or her promise and never backs down on it,

this role is a gift that is earned through commitment, courage, and honor,

a leader is only human, and can make mistakes,

people look up to a leader, and trust his or her decisions and hope they will help.

Great piece! I absolutely adore Obama myself, so (with the picture) I was here with bells on. You make a good point with this, that people of any group and what not can lead successfully. You could probably talk more directly about Obama, I'd like to know why you like him but that would probably fit easier into another work. Great job with this!
