The BearsA Poem by Slow LeakFriends share an afternoonWhile the three of us lay in bed, time stands still Laughs and joints are shared Nails graze skin Our bed absorbs our tired human’s weight I think to our foraging ancestors- Before there were jobs I wonder if this lightness was their reality Did they roll together in slumber? Skins meet more skins Hair on your face Grunts as paws meet aching bones We delight in our catch Chinatown Ice Cream and a bag of weed We are the bears in our den! Let the rest of the world spin on! We don’t care! Today we rest. Nuzzle to nuzzle, bones on bones. © 2015 Slow LeakFeatured Review
