The Bears

The Bears

A Poem by Slow Leak
"

Friends share an afternoon

"

While the three of us lay in bed, time stands still

Laughs and joints are shared

Nails graze skin

Our bed absorbs our tired human’s weight

I think to our foraging ancestors-

Before there were jobs

I wonder if this lightness was their reality

Did they roll together in slumber?

Skins meet more skins

Hair on your face

Grunts as paws meet aching bones

We delight in our catch

Chinatown Ice Cream and a bag of weed

We are the bears in our den! Let the rest of the world spin on!

We don’t care! Today we rest.

Nuzzle to nuzzle, bones on bones.

I actually like this. Which, if you asked my exes, they would say to never bring up their habit. It's a very nice piece and it has a nostalgic feeling to it. I love the sensual, yet casual flow of the piece. It's strange to say, but it felt good to read. Haha. Great work!

pretty heathenistic. I don't know. sounds like a reference to the aftermath of a threesome of a hippie fantasy. not to judge. I don't have such luxuries. I see its about a good time.
