Chernobyl

Chernobyl

A Poem by Tracy

Apocalyptic scriptures embalmed in walls of grey
Abandoned buildings and memories
Lie buried beneath barbed wire and concrete walls
Miserable and otherworldly man-made structures still face the sky
Spirits still lie screaming beneath the rubble
Faces of dead children still walk the streets
Unpleasant and shapeless
Immersed with disease
Buried beneath the ruins of time
Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds
