Epilogue

EPILOGUE

A few weeks later, Alicia had finally gotten used to using her magic for things besides fighting. Kay was up and about, and giving orders, and making sure everyone listened to her. They had all been relieved to find that Dawn had not been shot thanks to the necklace she always wore.

Andrea went up to Alicia and hugged her. “Come on, mom wants us to help with dinner.”

Alicia nodded and grinned as they rushed to the kitchen to help with the food. Dawn was already there cooking and Alicia looked at Andrea. “We aren’t needed to help cook so why are we in here?”

“Because child, tonight you become our leader,” Kay said as she walked into the room.

“I don’t understand…” Alicia said softly and Kay couldn’t help but laugh.

“Alicia, your mother was the coven leader before she died. Your birth right is to become leader. I wanted you to come in here because I wanted everyone to hear me say to you that you were the new leader.” She smiled and the room burst out into cheers.

Alicia looked at her silently for a moment and then ran to her, hugging her tightly.

The women in the room continued to cheer as a deeper voice joined in with their cheers. “Congratulations Alicia,” Lucas said walking into the room. Tears filled her eyes as she saw him.

“Lucas…” she murmured, and ran to him. “I didn’t think you would come back.”

“Alicia…” he said softly and wiped the tears from her cheeks. “Your mother made me promise to protect you, do you think I wouldn’t be here for this?” He hugged her and smiled.

Kay shook her head. “Come now, lets go out to the dining hall and start the ceremony.” he turned to walk out and all the women followed her.

Alicia turned back to Lucas and hugged him tightly and placed a soft kiss on his lips before turning and running into the dining hall.
