Healing Through Writing

Healing Through Writing

A Poem by therisa

Sigh
There are things
I need to talk about
Yet
When push comes
To shove
I can not
Verbally describe it
Like other people.

Give me
A few hours
With a pen and a pad of paper
Watch the ideas flow.

Like a long suppressed river
Unleashed from a dam
Bursting beyond its boundary
Raging forward
With its wild and turbulent currents
Carrying away all
Caught here.

Removing both
The good and the bad
From my sight
As I observe the carnage
From up high.

Until next time
This need possesses me
Within its grip
Like a highly addictive drug
I can not let go
Nor want to.
