Coming Of Spring

Coming Of Spring

A Poem by therisa

Across the horizon
A pale pastel palette
Paints the early morning sky
As the late Winter sun rise
So long missing.

Chasing away
The long Winter nights
Which threatens
To consume my soul
With it's unending darkness.

As my spirit sinks lower
Turning
What was once light
Into a slow descent
Of sadness.

As tears freezes
Upon my face
Turning into snowflakes
Covering my body
With its white mantle.

But now
A warming sea of water
Bathes me
Melting the once frozen
Soul.

As spring flowers
Burst through
The frozen tundra
Heralding changes
Long yearned for.

Leaving depression
Behind with the snow
Knowing
A late Winter storm
Is still possible.
