Sheila

Sheila

A Poem by therisa

She came
Into my life
Like a bolt of energy
Blowing everything apart
As if a bomb
Had been detonated
Scattering it
To the four winds.

Yet gave me
A focus
Missing until then
As if
An unknown weight
Had been removed
From my heart.

Melting the ice
Which had built-up
Layer after layer
Over the years.

As the melting water
Started to carry away
First of many
Toxic memories
Allowing the healing
To begin its long journey.

Sadly she left
As she had entered
My life
A force of nature
Doomed to the fates
She railed against.

A voice lost
In the wilderness.
