AwaitingA Poem by therisa
Melancholy fills my spirit
As I look out At another grey sky day Wondering When Winter's grip Will be released. So miss The riot of colour Which Spring brings With the emergence Of Tulips Daffodils And other Spring flowers To grace One's eyes. Or The sound of songbirds Singing their hearts out As they court their lovers For another year With the promise Of raising chicks. Even the sight Of a single blade of grass Boldly protruding out From last year's growth Is a beacon of hope In a land Full of grays. Proclaiming Once and for all Winter's demise For another nine months. © 2011 therisa |
