To My Guardian

To My Guardian

A Chapter by therisa

Oh Squeak
I know you are
Trying to protect me
From pain and suffering
But I am a big girl
Able to look after myself.

Will admit the past month
Has been filled with more pain
As migraine headaches
Have left me hiding away
In my apartment
Seeking out the elusive place
A dark and quiet spot.

But today is
One of those days
I am blessed
To experienced
One without any pain.

Be sure
I am not tempting fate
By doing
A celebratory happy dance
That comes later
When winter ends.

For now
A smile is gracing my face
Where once
A grimace of pain
Only existed.

I think migraines are often the result of stress, so hopefully there'll soon come a time in your life when storm clouds pass and serenity will be yours. Good thing you've got Squeak to give you a little support.

This is a lovely dedication to an animal which clearly means a lot to you and really helps you through those low times.
