Observations On A Cold January Day

Observations On A Cold January Day

A Poem by therisa

A bright sunny sky
Greets your eyes
Belying the truth
Which exists
In reality.

Of winds
Who love to dine
Upon your shivering soul
Caring not
About your social status.

Should you have
To go outside
Be careful
If you take a deep breathe
As your lungs freeze solid.

Into blocks of frozen tissue
Flash frozen
Right before your eyes
As you walk
Towards your car.
