Judging By Appearence

Judging By Appearence

A Chapter by therisa

I do not understand
Why it is important
For me
To be wearing skirts
And dresses
All the time.

Honestly
I have never seen you
Wearing anything
Remotely considered
To be a dress
Or a skirt.

So why
This double standard
For me
Which you have imposed
Upon a soul
Such as I?

Last time
I checked a calendar
It showed we live
In the 21st century
And not
The18th century.

Do all women
Who wear jeans
Are to be called men
As a result of
Your strict definition
Of what a woman wears?

Lady
You are living
In the wrong century
Too bad
No time machine
Has been built yet.

I would love
To send you
Back to that era
Which your thinking
Will be totally
At home with.
