The JourneyA Chapter by therisa
I started my journey
Seeking answers to questions Which longed to be settled By my questing soul. Of questions like Who am I What do I want from life And how do I get there? Unsure but knowing My answers lie Outside of society’s view Of what a woman is. Occasionally stumbling Over roots and loose rocks As I blaze My own path forward. Every once in awhile Forced to stop and heal My cuts and bruises Accumulated upon my body. Knowing I am One step closer To the goals That I seek answers for. Discovering hidden strengths I never realize I had Within myself During moments of crisis. As I climb the mountains Seeking the most secure footing One careful placement After another. Standing Upon the mountain’s zenith I turn my glaze backwards Over the terrain covered. Seeing how far I have come Since I started this sojourn Of mine. Realizing My genetic male body Is but one stop In my life’s cycle. As I slowly Transitions into a woman Filled with love and compassion For the people around me. © 2015 therisaAuthor's Note
