Hearing Her SpeakA Chapter by therisaFinally finding my feminine voice.
For almost
My entire life I was filled with hatred And self-anger Whenever I hear The sound of my voice. Until two weeks ago When everything Fell into place. A woman’s voice Emerged As I talked Over the phone. Feeling Totally natural Not some forced Falsetto By a man. A slow spreading pride Is consuming My body. As I playback The conversation With my nurse And the sound of confusion In her voice. Hearing The true me For the first time Is indescribable. For no words exist In any language. © 2015 therisaAuthor's Note
