Just Outside

A Chapter by therisa

An expanded and edited version of my poetic response to, Jacob Erin-Cilberto's poem, "Breakfast Cereal". http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/erin-cilberto/1472326/

It's a sad world
Which people feel
This compulsive need
To have their values
Pigeonholed
Over spontaneity.

In rejecting
The very fruits
That creativity offers.

Enabling ourselves
To view
So much more
If we open our eyes
To the wider world
Around us.

Finding solutions
Having eluding us
For millennia
Which stood
Right there.

Otherwise
Be dismissed
As totally irrelevant
To anyone.

I herad this. It is reall the here and now which always beckons. Yet it is also a careful balance in bewteen "I'm being me" and respect for others. Spontaneous does not mean unknind or un - thoughful.
The raising thought which helps the other is the most natural yet we suppress it out of fear out of ignorance and it dissapears.... .

Exiled into ....

Supper?
