Walk In The Woods
A Chapter by therisa
An attempt, at humour, on my part.
Don't know Why my mind is A wanderin' Hill over dale This morning.
Tripping over Every single root And broken branch Before me.
As if Someone has stolen My reason to focus In spite.
Muffling shouts And depletive bleeps Under my breath Over my poor bruised And battered body.
Thrusting my hands out Once more Trying to break Another disastrous tumble Down the hillside.
With little success Beyond more scrapes And scratches Upon the palm Of my hand.
Landing With a hard thud Against an imposing Maple As snow rains down The back of my jacket.
Giving me An instant snow job.
But Am already Gamely employed.
Thank you very much.
Brushing off The unwanted snow From my clothing Before continuing on With my trip.

In my darkest days, this seemingly insignificant exercise was a thread out of the lightless maze and back into the sun. It's difficult… wrenching even… but it really helps. Embrace the Joy!
