It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World

It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World

A Poem by therisa
"

How the world appears, at times.

"
Can feel
My head spinning
In a 1001 directions
With nothing to stop it
From rotating off
My body.

As every sigh
Drives me
Ever deeper
Into despair
And hopelessness.

Over the pettiness
We call
Life.

Spurring on
My growing need
To hide away.

In the warmth
And safety
Of my apartment.

As the world goes
In its own crazy direction
Towards madness.

Carrying
Everyone else
Along
For this ride
Into utter insanity.

Well penned. Y'know, we all want to just take to our beds and burrow under the covers some days.

Thank you, Momzilla, but for some, it happens on a too regular basis, like myself.

Thank you, Weseveredheads. Just wish, my poems about mental health weren't so relatable to others.
Stop the merry go round. I want off. I feel this poem - I have been at this place, as I read this. Well done.

Thank you, Tammy. It can be, a very scary place, at times.
Some of it is petty, but most of it is grand, sends us whirling off our axis...add a few more mads me thinks, I totally get the utter insanity of it all. :)

Wonder, what Spencer Tracey would say, about this poem, given his movie, of a similar name, Frieda?
Oh I know this feeling well... You sit back and watch the world spin out of control... Lost in orbit around insanity. I think you captured the need of wanting to escape the craziness of life so well here. Hope you find comfort away from the madness my friend.
