A Boring Life, That's The Life For Me

A Boring Life, That's The Life For Me

A Chapter by therisa
"

An expanded and edited version, of my poetic response, to Jacob Erin-Cilberto's poem, "the acme of self-acceptance". http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/erin-cilberto/1468689/

"
For many people
Just being average
Is a badge worn
With pride
Upon their sleeves.

But
What is average
To you and me?

Beyond
Being a mathematical term
Used universally
By the bean counters
In the stats department.

Scratching their heads
In abject boredom
At the same old-same old
Before them.

For boring is
Good.

When
The Chinese curse you
With an exciting
And interesting life.

Knowing
You're not experiencing
A computer crash
That ate your report.

With a deadline
Looming over
Your head
In thirty minutes.
