Deliverance

Sigh.

A hand extended
Beyond the depths
Of the deep blue sea.

Offered
In good faith
To a fair maiden
In mortal distress.

Hoping to
Save you
From drowning.

From
The most mortal
Of all wounds.

A broken heart.

Knowing
Time will ease
Most sorrows
For the healing
To start.

Leaving
The tiniest of scars.

Upon
The once smooth surface
Of your delicate heart.

Will you
Accept my offer
And climb up
Out of the water?

This my friend, is perhaps one of the most beautiful and sweetest writes. I feel deeply honored that my meager words inspired this... Through this poem you kind and thoughtful heart shines brightly. Thank you dearly.

In response to your response poem, lol... On the fly so forgive the rough around the edges verse

Reaching up
Into the light beams
That slice through the darkness
I can see hope
A life line out of the depth
Of heartache
A hand of friendship
Offered to pull my heart
out of the murky remembrance of pain
To pull me to the surface again
To lift me from the ocean floor
So the sun can dry these
saltwater tears
For good....

Thank you for the offer to take me out of the waters of pain with this lovely poem... Very kind and I feel a sunshine smile already drying up those teardrops. :)

Thank you, Kalypso, I have never had a poem written, in response, to my poems, before.
