As The Tears Drop

As The Tears Drop

A Chapter by therisa

Can hear her
As she cries
At life's injustices
She has endured
In silence.

Wondering
Who was suppose
To save her
From this?

When
No one answered
Her pleads
For help.

You see
I'm her
Crawling out
Into the light
Decades later.

Scared
But wanting to
Embrace the light
Without jumping
At every single shadow
Behind me.

Like a petrified child
Lost
In the local mall
Looking for someone
To trust
But finding no one.

Knowing
I can't stay here
If I want to
Continue my healing
And bathe
In the sunlight.
