In some way, your surprise over, my collecting comic books, triggered this. To me, those books offered an escape, from the violence, I have had to endure, over most of my life. Besides, where else do you get to see, women standing up and not take any crap from men?

I get the same reaction when people discover I'm a gamer girl addicted to Xbox and a huge fan of Marvel comics and that sci-fi is my favourite genre. People make assumptions all the time about me too based on how I look and dress. I think getting to know someone is like unwrapping a gift. Hope my comment hadn't offended you. I hate for you to think I'm an a*s, because you'd be wrong.

I do hope, she's still active, as it has been almost 9 years, since I have last bought an X-Men title.
My quick answer would be No! Stereotypes are as much alive as always, is just that we have thrown another stereotype called Political Correctness which tries to balance the other out. But then because it is only an act if you skimm through you find that all the stereotypes are very much alive.
Know someone that loves crossdressing at the wekend, only then and he is subject to the most terrible of times, luckily for him, his rugby is second to none which again balances out and makes respect stand for itself.
I think anytime we think that we can sit on the mighty chair of judgement all we do in fact is show our enormous amount of ignorance.
If for pure luck, or destiny or grace you happen to find someone that relates to you as an individual, I would gove thanks! not been made to feel ashamed or antyhing of the sort.
Very relevant writing Therisa.
Thank You.
