So Speaks, A Bent Man

So Speaks, A Bent Man

A Chapter by therisa
"

An expanded and edited version, of my poetic review, of Icelandicblue's poem, "Bended Backs of Broken Men". http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/icelandicblue/1191590/

"
A moment ago
I was free
And innocent
Walking the streets
With my family.

Now
I stand before you.
Convicted
And condemned
To death.

A hangman's noose
Is placed
Around my neck
Before its tighten.

Found
Guilty of a crime.

Because
I have a different
Skin colour
Than you.

For this sin
I will die
With a clear conscious
And peace of mind.

Regardless
Of what your God says
Or does to me
In the afterlife.
